Conclusion
I hope that this project helps in guiding students to learning more about copyright law. I hope this can be used as a jumping off point to further research and serve as a basis in an introductory legal class.
The field of copyright law is ever changing and I feel that the best way to get an understanding is to teach it along side a real life example.
I chose to use Google Books because it is extremely relevant in copyright discussion and is changing the face of copyright currently. It gives relevant information and examples of international copyright and even anti-trust laws.
I tried to keep the pages simple and just introduce the topic so students can have basic understanding before they delve deeper into copyright law. I also hope that the websites I have listed are helpful with student research and that this website can be useful in a moot court or mock trial type exercise.
On another note, I believe that internet archival is helpful in preserving our past and that the digitization of books helps us to preserve our culture. I have used Google Books frequently in my college career and it has opened me up to books I would never have picked up and read if I was at my school library. Google Books also saves the out of publish and no longer available books so that the public can have access. While I do understand that the fact the Google does make money off the advertising and has other ways of making money it does seem different then other not for profit projects doing the same thing and kind of skews their message of doing this for the public.
